How much energy can insulation jackets save?

The energy savings achieved by insulation jackets depend on factors including operating temperature, exposed surface area, equipment design, ambient conditions and operating hours. Can insulation jackets be removed?

Yes. Soloheat insulation jackets are designed to be removable and reusable. Hook-and-loop fasteners, straps, cam buckles or other suitable fixing methods allow jackets to be removed for maintenance, inspection or replacement of heating elements and then refitted.

How hot can insulation jackets operate at?

Our high-temperature insulation jackets can be manufactured for continuous operating temperatures of up to approximately 500°C, depending on the materials, construction and application. Material selection is matched to the intended operating conditions.

Are insulation jackets waterproof?

Jackets manufactured with suitable coated outer fabrics can provide good resistance to moisture, oils and industrial contaminants. However, standard insulation jackets should not be considered waterproof or suitable for permanent immersion, high-pressure wash-down or other severe wet environments unless specifically designed for those conditions.

Can cut-outs be added?

Yes. Every insulation jacket is custom manufactured and can incorporate cut-outs or openings for terminal boxes, thermocouples, sensors, pipework, brackets, lifting points, mounting bolts and other equipment. The jacket can be designed around these features while maintaining practical installation and removal.

What materials are used?

Soloheat insulation jackets are manufactured using materials selected to suit the operating temperature and environment. Depending on the application, these can include coated glass-fibre outer fabrics, glass-fibre or specialist high-temperature insulation materials, together with robust fastening systems. Kevlar-coated stainless-steel thread is used for all stitching.

Can insulation jackets fit existing heaters?

Yes. Our insulation jackets are custom manufactured for both new and existing industrial heating equipment. Applications include band heaters, ceramic heaters, cast heaters, barrel heaters, pipework, valves, vessels, tooling and many other heated components, whether or not the original equipment was supplied by Soloheat.

Typically, we require overall dimensions, diameter or circumference, height or length, together with the positions of terminal boxes, sensors, supports and other obstructions. Photographs, drawings or simple sketches are also useful, and our team can advise if additional dimensions are required.
